What’s the coolest (or most important) trend you see today?
The ease at which we have so much information - just oodles of information - at our fingertips. Anything we want to know is available in an instant.
What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13?
Learn to use other people’s talents & strengths to complement your own strengths. I don’t have to do it all myself. “Teamwork” is not just a sports term - - use it for all areas of life!
What is the toughest accountant problem you’ve tackled? How did you handle it? How did you overcome the challenge?
Most recently, the area of accounting that I’ve had to tackle has been International tax with multiple countries, and business owners located in multiple countries. It gets complicated! I’m still working at it, researching IRS guidance, and treaties, looking for guidance from others, as well as how other people handle similar situations. It is challenging, with each situation a little different from the last.
How do you define success?
Being comfortable in what I know & what I’m doing - and receiving satisfaction knowing that I’m helping others and getting things done.
Why do you love working for 1-800Accountant?
I talk to business owners all over the country, everyday, who lean on me to relieve their financial burden - and I hear it in their voice & they tell me that I’ve made them feel so much better about the tax & accounting side of their business, and the direction we’re going.
How has virtual accounting been a great fit for clients?
The clients don’t have to drive to my office to meet. Many times, they talk with me while they are in their car! Our calls can easily fit in their busy schedules. If they have a question, we communicate that day, or within a day.
