A. Right to know and access Personal Information
You may submit a verifiable request to be informed about the (1) categories of Personal Information collected, sold, or disclosed by us, (2) purposes for which categories of Personal Information are collected or sold by us, (3) categories of sources from which we collect Personal Information, (4) categories of third parties with whom we disclosed or sold Personal Information, and (5) specific pieces of Personal Information that we collected about you during the prior 12 months.
B. Right to request deletion of Personal Information
Subject to certain exceptions, you may submit a verifiable request that we delete the Personal Information about you that we collected from you.
C. Right to request correction of Personal Information
You may submit a verifiable request that we correct inaccurate Personal Information that we maintain about you.
D. Verification
Requests for access to, correction, or deletion of Personal Information are subject to our ability to reasonably verify your identity in light of the information requested and pursuant to relevant CCPA requirements, limitations, and regulations. To verify your identity based on information previously provided to 1-800Accountant, we may request additional information.
E. Right to opt-out of the sale or sharing of Personal Information

F. Right to equal service and price
You have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment by a business for the exercise of your CCPA privacy rights, subject to certain limitations.
G. Submit requests

H. Authorizing an agent
If you are acting as an authorized agent to make a request to know, delete, or opt out on behalf of a California resident, please send a message to privacy@1800accountant.com and attach a written authorization signed by the resident.
I. Do not track
There is no accepted standard on how to respond to Do Not Track signals, and we do not respond to such signals.
J. Opt-Out preference signals
You may also opt out of the sale or sharing (for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes) of your personal information by turning on the Global Privacy Control (GPC) in participating browser systems. Categories of Personal Information:
We have collected the following categories of Personal Information during the past 12 months:
Identifiers: Examples of the types of identifiers that we collect include real names, nicknames, signatures, postal addresses, online identifiers, Internet Protocol addresses, email addresses, and account numbers.
Sensitive Information: Examples of the types of sensitive information that we collect includes social security, driver’s license, state identification card, and passport numbers, and usernames and passwords for accounts connected to your Client Portal.
Biometric information:
Characteristics protected under California law: Examples of the types of characteristics that we collect include age, national origin, and citizenship. 1-800Accountant does not use this type of information to analyze your health, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
Internet information: Examples of the types of internet activity information that we collect includes browsing history, search history, information about the device used to access our website or applications, and information regarding your interaction with Websites, Applications, or advertisements. We also collect information from visitors to our Website, such as browser settings, operating systems, referring/exit pages, and clickstream data. When we send you an email, we also collect information, including about how you interact with that email.
Geolocation information: 1-800Accountant collects information about where you reside, do business, or are otherwise located. We also offer Services that rely on precise geolocation tracking, such as mileage tracking services, with your express consent.
Audio and visual information: Our support lines make audio recordings of telephone calls.
Professional and employment-related information: Examples of the types of professional and employment-related information we collect includes information about professional status and affiliations, employment history, salary, and employment status.
Other types of information: Examples of other types of information include physical characteristics or descriptions of you, telephone number, insurance policy number, financial information including bank account, credit card, and debit card numbers, and health insurance information. It also includes additional information provided to us directly by you, such as when you complete a questionnaire, upload a document, answer a survey, or receive a financial consultation. This category includes information identified as personal information in California Civil Code Section 1798.80(e) that is not otherwise categorized above.
When and why we share your information with others
We restrict access to your information to authorized employees and contractors. We may share your Personal Information with third parties in the following circumstances.
As a customer of 1-800Accountant, we may share all of the categories of Personal Information described above with our service providers for our business purposes to provide you with the Services.
We may also share all of the categories of your Personal Information described above with the following categories of third parties for certain other business purposes:
Other Service Providers, Partners, Contractors or Vendors: for analytics and reporting, marketing and advertising, auditing, communicating with you, managing our customer database, providing you with professional services, managing our recruitment process and conducting background checks (for prospective employees).
Successor Entities: if we merge with or are acquired by another company, are involved in a bankruptcy, or if the ownership or control of all or part of our Services or their assets changes, information about you may be transferred to such entities.
Law Enforcement, Government Agencies, and Professional Advisors: to prevent or investigate suspected fraud, threats to physical safety, illegal activity, or violations of a contract or our policies, or to comply with a law or regulation, or if we are otherwise legally required to do so, such as in response to a court order or legal process, or to establish, protect, or exercise our legal rights or to defend against legal claims or demands.
We also share certain categories of Personal Information with third parties to provide personalized online advertising and with third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Under the CCPA, some of this information sharing may be broadly considered a “sale” or “sharing” of Personal Information. Except for this type of sharing, we do not sell your Personal Information. We share identifiers (such as name, email address, IP address and online identifiers), commercial information, internet or other electronic network activity information, and inferences drawn from Personal Information with third parties for these purposes. If you are a California resident, you can opt out of the sale of your personal information as described above, or by clicking on the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link on the Website.
California Sensitive Information Disclosure. Some of the personal information we collect is considered “sensitive personal information” under California law. We may collect the following categories of sensitive personal information (as defined under California law): social security number, driver’s license, state identification card, or passport number; and account log-in, financial account, debit card, or credit card number in combination with any required security or access code, password, or credentials allowing access to an account and processing of biometric information for the purpose of uniquely identifying a consumer. This information is collected in order to process transactions, verify your identity, comply with laws, manage our business, or provide you with Services. Note that we do not use such information for any purposes that are not identified within the CCPA Section 1798.121. We do not “sell” or “share” sensitive personal information for purposes of cross-context behavioral advertising.
California Notice of Financial Incentive. We may offer certain programs which provide rewards and exclusive offers (the “Program”). When you sign up for the Program, we typically ask you to provide your name and contact information (such as your email address), as well as the contact information for individuals you will refer to us. Under California law, our Program might be interpreted as a “financial incentive” program, as it involves the collection of Personal Information. We do not assign a monetary value to the information we collect. Based on our reasonable estimate, the value of the Personal Information you provide to us is related to the value of the referral reward and free or discounted products or services offered through the Program.
