    Non-retail or wholesale small businesses that make more than $1.23 million per year, but less than $20 million annually, you will pay a franchise tax of 0.331%. Wholesalers and retailers pay a 0.375% rate, with other businesses paying a 0.75% rate.

    If you make less than $1.23 million in gross receipts annually, this tax does not apply to your small business.

    Most small businesses in Texas will have to file and pay a franchise tax in place of a corporate income tax like in most states. While corporate income taxes apply to profits, franchise taxes do not. This tax is filed via the E-Z Computation form.
